v 1.0 - It's finished!


Games done! The final pdf files are up!

The actual game release will come a bit later though, I want to make an imageless hypertext version, and a trailer too, but wow the book is complete!

Here's the final (hopefully!) changelog;

  • Final cover art!
  • Updated credits after askinging everyone how they want crediting
  • Improved introduction layout for the text to be clearer
  • Added a "Jump start" suggestion to page 5 and tweaked the layout
  • The dice ladder under "Dice Size" is now read left-to-right on every row
  • Classes with a minimum world now unlock one world sooner
  • Classes section's intro text mentions Dojos to improve classes
  • Specified that ascension resets class level to 1
  • Tweaked Slot Machine's scoring and prizes
  • Removed the daily usage limit for Snapdragons (I assume there is some way to exploit this, have fun finding that minmaxers!)
  • Fully reworked the Endless Dungeon's rules, flavour, and prizes. The biggest change is the quest no longer halts progress against the demiurge
  • Odds of pirate robbery in ocean worlds increased to 50% on rainy days
  • Clarified that shadow world's effect does not count as ascension, and specifies a d9 to select the next world type
  • Changed Undersea Quest's prize exchange rule to accept treasures earned from prior quests
  • Treasure rules for the Undersea Quest now use the same "landed on" wording as other things there
  • Clarified wording for the Portal Gun
  • Cursed Pen does 20 damage instead of 30
  • "Cutting Word" has been renamed "Glass Knife" to be more in line with its mechanic as a powerful single-use item
  • Fixed some purchases in Odds & Ends displaying a redundant "Stock: 1" when they are permanent (except for a particular purchase)
  • Tweaked purchase wording for Scrap Town
  • Plush grenade costs have been increased
  • Multiverse Voyager cost has been increased to 500 blood drops, has been reworded, and now allows selecting shadow worlds
  • Soul-Binding thread has been clarified to be sure it does not apply to consumable purchases
  • Adjusted Witch of Stitches artwork where it interacts with the updated layout
  • Changed wording of an FAQ answer
  • Changed 'Nudges' appearance on the game sheet
  • Added two rows to the "Modifiers" table of the game sheet
  • Tweaked text layout, phrasing, grammar all over the place!

Not yet, sorry! There’s an issue with getting it printed that is still being worked on.

Two things:

- Is the physical book not available? The link is dead. 

- There is no "Buy Now" on the main page ("The game is currently unavailable")

Hi sorry about that, those are both my bad! I wanted to make this page public even though the game isn't released. I'll change the page to make that clearer!

It shouldn't be too long though, hopefully next week (or maybe the one after) I'll be able to release it. There's just been an issue with DriveThruRPG that has hindered getting a final print proof, but it's being worked on.

By the way: lulu is another great way to get books printed on demand. They also offer ringbound options, that's really useful for gamebooks and similar books the player doesn't keep in hand all the time.

I'll buy the game soon, just not decided yet if physical or digital.
