Made for the "Stop Waiting for Godot" jam

The longer you get, the more parts of the stage appear. (unlocks are at 20 and 50 marbles. Then you get no more space!)

Controls:

  • Steer: A/D or Left/Right or Left Stick
  • Speed up: W or Up or Right Trigger
  • Change Camera: Tab or Y Button/Triangle

Still a bit rough but, for 2 days work in a game engine I had only ever used for a couple of hours before, I'm happy with this :)

Note: I have no idea if the macOS or Linux builds work, sorry!

The screenshots give me Super Monkey Ball vibes! That was the game that sold me on getting a Gamecube :-)

Sorry to report that the Linux build crashed my computer. I get a window with the Godot logo, and then the entire Gnome Desktop freezes, with no way to end the game or recover other than a reboot. Might be a GPU issue, since this machine only has Intel HD Graphics?

This is so cute! I made it to 60, but that thin path defeated me haha. The theme of the graphics really gives me  Kirby's Dream Course vibes, so it was also a little bit nostalgic.

It's a beautiful creation.  My brother got a Score of 53.  I love the stars floating in space.  The game looks and feels great.  It'll be nice to see it develop more.

Hii, I've made a video about the game and wanted to share some feedback about it, hopefully it is useful to you ^^

-The idea of the game is interesting.

-The gameplay mechanic the game is based on works well, but I would have made the level bigger (more parts) and the reveal of it's parts a little bit faster.

-Adding some background music and some sound effects could improve the gameplay experience a lot.

-The visual style of the game is really good and I loved the designs on the marbles ^^

Hopefully this is useful to you :D, also if you could subscribe that would help me a lot :)

Regards

App wouldn't open for me on MacOS (X) Mojave, gave me the "damaged" error. This is a known issue with MacOS. Here are the instructions to fix it:

Side note: You do not need to have the exact path as in the video. Just drag the app from whatever folder you want into the terminal window. Terminal automatically enters the path for you. The game runs but there is no sound.

Edit: grammer

Clever & fun! Thanks for making this :) Sadly, on macOS the marbles are all solid white. Tested on a 2020 MacBook Pro, running macOS 11 Big Sur. I didn't see any errors in the console, but this is likely some sort of shader issue.

I hadn't heard of Godot before. This was my introduction to it, thank you. I got to 50 marbles then fell off the platform..

Lovely idea and good execution! I also made a snake type game but this is a much better idea :)

Arch Linux user reporting in, the build works as a charm!

Thanks for letting me know! ❤️

how did you make the marbles?

I modelled the various swirls and stripes in blender, and made a script to colour them randomly when instanced. The glass balls themselves use a shiny spatial material, but I think it was enabling refraction that really makes them seem more ‘marble-like’.

They're awesome!

This one is amazing! I've never seen a 3D-snake game, as far as I know. Congrats :-D!

Thanks! ❤️
